On 12 June 2025, HEInnovate hosted an information session bringing together representatives from the European Commission, the OECD, and the HEInnovate team to showcase how the platform supports innovation and entrepreneurship in higher education.
The session highlighted HEInnovate as a free, strategic self-assessment tool that helps higher education institutions (HEIs) reflect on and enhance their entrepreneurial and innovative potential. Participants were introduced to a wide range of support resources—including Guidance Notes, Action Cards, Case Studies, and Training Materials—that help institutions move from insight to action.
A highlight of the session was the presentation by the HEInnovate Expert Juliana Vassileva from New Bulgarian University (NBU). She shared how NBU used HEInnovate to align entrepreneurial activities and uncover gaps between student and faculty perceptions. The assessment sparked new initiatives, including proposals for an entrepreneurship centre, mentoring systems, and more inclusive opportunities. Juliana emphasised the tool’s role in empowering both institutional strategy and student engagement, describing HEInnovate as a platform that enables universities to “measure, mobilise, and multiply change—one insight at a time.”
The webinar concluded with a lively Q&A on implementation practices and ways to keep the momentum going. Participants were invited to continue their engagement through Train the Trainer sessions, internal workshops, and contributions to HEInnovate’s growing library of user stories.
