ZOOM video conference (click here to register)

Since 2013, HEInnovate, a joint initiative of the European Commission and OECD has been supporting individual higher education institutions and higher education systems to assess and develop their innovative and entrepreneurial potential, as foreseen under the European Strategy for Universities.

This hour-long HEInnovate online webinar will take place on the 5th of November, 2024, at 5 pm CEST. It will engage representatives from The Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges (EAUC) and the Universitat Rovira i Virgili to explore innovative approaches to integrate sustainability in teaching, learning, and research at higher education institutions.

Speakers will give an overview of what a higher education institution’s approach to sustainability looks like, including the importance of entrepreneurship and knowledge exchange in this process. Examples from a variety of higher education institutions will be given. The speakers will also discuss how higher education institutions integrate sustainability into their teaching, learning, and curriculum.

This topic is closely linked to HEInnovate, particularly the Entrepreneurial Teaching and Learning dimension, as a core theme throughout the self-assessment is addressing the need to ensure sustainable teaching, learning, innovation, and entrepreneurship in higher education. Innovation plays an important role in promoting sustainability, opening doors to the design of sustainable new curricula and new methods of integrating sustainability in leadership and governance, university culture, and teaching and learning at higher education institutions.
