
Vilma Purienė is the Head of the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Centre at VILNIUS TECH. She has over 15 years of experience in research and innovation policy, as well as national and international project management. Additionally, she is the founder of a start-up focused on promoting entrepreneurship, intellectual property management, and training and mentorship programmes. An expert in innovation policy, she has contributed to the design and implementation of both EU and national research and innovation policies. For more than eight years, she worked in the Ministry of Economy of Lithuania, where she was responsible for formulating the State Innovation Policy. Her areas of expertise include demand-driven innovation policy, intellectual property rights, commercialisation, science and business cooperation, innovation support actions, social innovation, clusters, innovative SMEs, and the policies related to innovation support infrastructure. Vilma Purienė is an experienced project manager who has overseen more than 20 diverse projects funded by EIT, Erasmus+, Interreg, ESA, and various national programmes.
