
Dr. Marina Ranga is an international scholar in innovation studies, currently serving as Associate Professor of Innovation Management at the University of Warsaw’s Faculty of Management and as Manager of the Innovation Hub at the University of Seville, under the European Universities alliance Ulysseus. She holds a PhD and a MSc in Science & Technology Policy from SPRU – the Science Policy Research Unit at the University of Sussex, UK. Her career spans full-time and visiting positions at leading universities in Europe and the US (Stanford University) and at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre in Seville, Spain. Dr Ranga’s academic research had a significant contribution to the development of the Entrepreneurial University and Triple Helix Systems concepts, with a strong focus on regional innovation ecosystems and university-industry collaboration. With extensive knowledge of EU research and innovation policies and instruments, she has been involved in innovation policy analysis and implementation for over two decades through a wide range of advisory, consulting, review and evaluation projects for the European Commission. Among others, she served as an Advisor (Fellow) in the 2023-2024 Fellowship Programme for Economic Expert Advice to the European Commission’s DG GROW (Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs) and as the Chair of DG RTD Advisory Group on Horizon 2020 “Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation”. Her work also includes projects with several UN bodies, national and regional governments and professional bodies around the world.
