OECD HEInnovate Country Review Hungary, Study visits 29th February-8th March 2016

Between the 29th February and 8th March 2016, five selected Hungarian HEIs (namely University of Debrecen, Eszterházy Károly University, Semmelweis University, Széchenyi University and Szent István University) were visited by an OECD led delegation of international and Hungarian experts. The purpose of the OECD HEInnovate country review is to identify key achievements and challenges faced by Hungarian HEIs through the framework of HEInnovate. The visits focused on areas of organisational capacity, entrepreneurial pathways at HEIs, and knowledge exchange between HEIs as well as relations with external partners. In addition to visiting the HEIs, experts met with Hungarian professional associations and governmental bodies.

By the end of April, the first findings and recommendations will be sent to the Ministry and the participating HEIs. The final report and dissemination conference of the HEInnovate Country Review is planned for Autumn 2016.

The OECD HEInnovate country review is a collaborative effort between the OECD, the European Commission and the Hungarian Ministry of Human Capacities. Hungary is the fourth country to carry out such a review. The local coordinator of the review is the Tempus Public Foundation.
