HEInnovate’s second Train the Trainer workshop of 2025 brought together 28 participants from 22 countries for two days of hands-on training, peer learning, and strategic development. Held in Helsinki and co-hosted by Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, the session empowered participants to explore how HEInnovate can catalyse change in their institutions.
The agenda combined practical exercises with strategic reflection. Participants worked intensively with the HEInnovate self-assessment, Action Cards, and a newly introduced session on change management, designed to help institutions embed innovation in their own context.
Highlights included:
- A deep dive into the Action Cards through a hands-on gamification challenge
- Stakeholder mapping and change-readiness reflection
- Peer feedback and group pitching of HEInnovate-based institutional projects
- A focus on real-world implementation, with each participant creating a personal action plan to take forward
The projects developed ranged from strengthening entrepreneurship strategies to building AI literacy among students, and even designing innovation escape rooms. These diverse ideas reflected the adaptability of HEInnovate across different institutional types and innovation goals.
📆 A follow-up session in December will provide a space for participants to reconnect and share early outcomes.
