Policy approaches to digital transformation and institutional responses – HEInnovate webinar series

The next HEInnovate webinar will explore the key pillars of the national policy approaches to enhance digital transformation in higher education in Ireland and in Hungary. In addition, university representatives will discuss the impact of COVID-19 on teaching and learning as well as on the entrepreneurial culture in higher education institutions. The challenge is to turn what started as an emergency response to the pandemic into sustainable changes with a potential to enhance the quality of the learning experience.

The webinar will take place on Thursday 18th June at 6pm CEST.

The moderated discussion will engage four experts:

  • Dr Terry Maguire is an educator and senior manager who has pioneered flexible and blended approaches to teaching and learning in Ireland and Scotland. Terry has led the development of Ireland’s National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education since its inception in 2013
  • Dr Laura Sinóros-Szabó is the Head of Department for Higher Education Strategy and Institutional Development in the Ministry for Innovation and Technology, Hungary. Laura is responsible for developing strategic interventions, action plans and programmes for the higher education strategy in Hungary
  • Dr Ruaidhri Neavyn is a Special Advisor on Higher Education with the Irish Higher Education Authority who advises on HE policy and programme development activities in areas including skills, engagement, entrepreneurship, digital transformation, system performance and financial systems
  • Krisztina Lénárt is the Head of Education Management and Talent Support Department of Eötvös Loránd University in Hungary, with expertise in coordinating and promoting the use of digital technologies and innovative teaching methods
