ZOOM video conference (click here to register)

Since 2013, HEInnovate, a joint initiative of the European Commission and OECD has been supporting individual higher education institutions and higher education systems to assess and develop their innovative and entrepreneurial potential, as foreseen under the European Strategy for Universities.

This hour-long HEInnovate online webinar will take place on the 20th of November, 2024, at 5 pm CET. It will engage representatives from The Guild of European Research-Intensive UniversitiesThe European Association for International Education, and the HEROES European University Alliance to explore innovative strategies for promoting global engagement, cross-cultural collaboration, and international mobility in higher education.

Speakers will provide insights into the state of internationalisation in European Higher Education, including a cross-country analysis of how higher education institutions manage the internationalisation process. The content of the webinar will stress reflections on the concepts of innovation and internationalisation, how they relate, and the changing mindsets around them. The speakers will also give examples of initiatives being implemented at higher education institutions to drive the internationalisation of curricula forward.

This topic aligns with The Internationalised Institution dimension of HEInnovate, which encompasses the integration of international perspectives into the design and delivery of education, research, and knowledge exchange by introducing new questions, approaches and alternative ways of thinking. Innovative approaches are important for promoting internationalised teaching, learning, and research, for example the design of more internationalised curricula or the fostering cross-country partnerships and alliances between institutions.
