Fiona has over 20 years of experience of innovation and enterprise, in industry and in higher education. Her expertise enables her to play a vital connecting role between academia and business within entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Prior to her current role, she was CEO of the Scottish Institute for Enterprise (SIE), a national organisation that supported enterprise education and student entrepreneurship in all of Scotland's universities and colleges. Fiona’s role at SIE was both strategic and operational, advising on institutional strategy and operational policies as well as having practical experience of delivering enterprise education and start up advice. Previously, Fiona worked in the biotechnology sector, and she draws on her industry experience to provide relevance to her role. She has served on a number of advisory groups related to enterprise and entrepreneurship education, she sits on the Board of Glasgow Clyde College, and she is a past board member of Enterprise Educators UK. Fiona has been involved with the HEInnovate expert group since 2014, and has run a number of HEInnovate workshops, for single and multiple higher education institutions.
