HEInnovate for Social Innovation - fostering social Inclusion in education through knowledge exchange

The last HEInnovate webinar before a short summer break will take place on the 24th June 2021 at 5pm CEST. Our contributors will discuss different approaches to social innovation and fostering social inclusion through knowledge exchange at different levels and across various subject fields of education.

The hour-long webinar will be moderated by Rebecca Allinson, a Managing Partner at Technopolis Group and involve three contributors:

  • Alfredo Garmendia International Affairs Manager at Centro San Viator in Spain. Alfredo will present their activities and the Erasmus+ funded project entitled VET in 3D. The project seeks to create more opportunities for VET organisations to exchange practices and discuss innovation on a regular basis. It aims to improve the competences of the VET staff on innovative teaching methodologies and to raise awareness of 3 Dimensions of VET considered as primary drivers of excellence: entrepreneurship education, social inclusion and technology enabled learning
  • Mark Majewsky Anderson, Director of Research and Innovation at Glasgow Caledonian University, United Kingdom. Mark will introduce the Social Innovation through Knowledge Exchange (SIKE) Erasmus+ funded Knowledge Alliance project. The SIKE Project aims to facilitate the exchange, flow and co-creation of knowledge and stimulate social entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial skills while developing new and innovative approaches to teaching and learning through its training programme and online tools
  • Dr Melanie Sarantou, a senior researcher at the University of Lapland, Finland. She is investigating the role of arts in societies that exist on the margins of Europe in the European Commission-funded Horizon 2020 project, Action on the Margin: Arts as Social Sculpture (AMASS). In her contribution Melanie will discuss the AMASS project’s approach to experimentation to investigate the role of the arts in mitigating societal challenges on the margins of Europe
